Itchy scalp

I have had a very itchy scalp on and off for several months. It started at the hairdressers and I think it was a reaction to a leave in conditioner she used. It’s never really been the same since. I have tried head and shoulders scalp comfort, aveeno and nizoral which have all worked for a while and then stopped. I don’t have any dandruff and my hairdresser says my scalp looks normal, it’s just horrendously itchy. Does anyone have any suggestions of anything else I could try?

Have you checked for nits? Worth doing a thorough comb to rule it out for sure.

Yes, I have fine tooth combed and asked my hairdresser to check too.

If you think it started with an allergy, maybe try taking piriton for a few days? If it helps, maybe taking it for a week or so will give your scalp a chance to settle down and recover

Hey I was wondering if you recovered from this?

I agree about an antihistamine and try a natural shampoo and conditioner like the ginger one from body shop

I did recover. I started using the head and shoulders scalp comfort again and it has gone completely. Thank God!

How did you recover if you don’t mind me asking I’m currently going through the same thing

I had it for years and i use a brand called Medicuticals…. Recommended by tricologist …. Only thing that works - a liquid treatment / shampoo and then conditioner …. It drove me insane !
