Shingles vaccination,

Can anyone who's had the shingles vaccination tell me, is it normal for the injection site to still be hot and red and painful 5 days later? The redness has definitely gotten bigger and is now about hand sized. Feel fine otherwise.
Many thanks.

Unusual but not super rare. It is a delayed immune system reaction. Should clear up within another 3 or 4 days. If it doesn't then let the GP know. Smile

Yes mine was the same, I also had swollen lymph nodes in my armpit. Took nearly 2 weeks to settle down.

I had a similar reaction to the Pneumovax, ended up with cellulitis and antibiotics..I went to an out of hours treatment centre, now sadly closed..Dr said would I mind if his colleagues had a look because he'd never seen anything like it. My arm blew up like a balloon and was so painful, I was also pyrexial and feeling rough. You can always get a pharmacist to have a look. Hopefully just your immune system.

DP went to the pharmacy, given hydrocortisone cream and fexofenadine tablets. Thanks for the advice.
