To feel recharged after D and V , the healing power of sleep

So I got the D and V bug . Instead of getting up and carrying on I took to my bed like my husband does when he feels rough , and slept for almost 24 hours. Two days later I honestly feel like I’ve been re set . My mind is clearer , I’ve more energy and I’m not craving sugary foods . I didn’t eat but drank loads of water to flush out the bug . I won’t underestimate the power of sleep and rest again .

I'd like to think with any D and V bug you'd be confined to your bed and bathroom anyway. There's no 'carrying on' in my eyes.

Yes sleep is an amazing and often underrated thing, like drinking enough water. I feel fantastic after getting 8 hrs a night and shit after 6. It’s one of my “must dos” now

Mmm Chocolate hobbit in the past I would have carried on cleaning , washing etc but I didn’t this time . I rested properly and dehydrated. And I felt so much better than if I had carried on as normal .

I feel this! I had it on Tuesday was one of the most brutal bugs I’ve had. I haven’t snacked on any crap since only drinking water. My anxiety is on edge though as paranoid someone else in my house is going to get ill!

Not necessarily , I caught mine from a family member (separate household) and it took two days to come out. My husband hasn’t caught it . I just took to my bed . My back ached and it hurt my ribs to cough after the bug had gone through my system, but I believe I bounced back quicker by resting.
