I've had what they call a stomach erosion in the past, but my last endoscopy was 3 years ago and it had apparently gone. I've been on daily omepazole since.
The issue is this. I get stomach pain soon after waking. I know it's acid related because it's the typical gnawing pain and it goes around half an hour after taking an omeprazole. I read that some people do produce a lot of acid in the morning and it doesn't mean there's another ulcer. Does anyone know how common it is to have a lot of acid in the morning? It's not in my throat, no heartburn or anything, just my stomach. I don't know whether to mention to GP as I'm taking omeprazole anyway. I had to fight for an endoscopy before as they seemed to think I had indigestion and was eating too much fried food, which I don't!
