Treatment for perianal abscess

Hi,
So, I ended up having a lovely rectal exam on Sat night after being in pain on Friday and discovering a squishy lump on my perineum ( grape size?) The Dr was really good, said she couldn't feel anything inside and prescribed fluxocillin 4 times a day for 7 days but said if no better to go to my gp on Monday. I was still in pain (can't sit or lie properly) so saw my GP who examined me from the front and said it was definitely an abcess probably caused by a fissure (I've had IBS since 18) was prescribed co-maxiclav (spelling?) and she asked to see me in 2 days and if still sore she'll book me for drainage surgery. Has anyone had this done? Under a local or GA? I had a haemorrhoidectomy 2 years ago (with a spinal sedation) and terrified of going through a similar pain recovery which took 8 weeks. Also throw into the mix I've got emetaphobia and really scared of being sick when coming round even though it's only a 10 min procedure, and they'll have anti emetics. I'm so fed up of being in pain ( had flu before Christmas for 2 weeks) and feeling pretty low. Any advice would help!! Thanks 😊 I'm perimenopausel too 😀
