Sore veins but nothing visible

I have the feeling of aching, tender to touch veins in my thighs (back and outer sides) and around my bum near my sit bones but I can't see anything visibly wrong. I'm in the process of registering with a new gp so probably a while till I can get an appointment. Wondered if anyone else has experienced this and what it could be? I have some broken veins but no obvious varicose veins. Can you have invisible swollen veins, the deeper ones?

I get this in my calves - as I’ve got older the veins are getting more visible and I can see which ones are painful. Just out of interest, if it’s hurting inside your leg, are you sure it’s a vein and not muscular?

@Mumsknot yeah, I wasn't sure at first but I think it is veins. It's not the same as a muscle pain, it's more they hurt with pressure and I get occasional sharp pains.
