Parkinson’s Disease Diagnosis

Hi my oh is 62 and used to have a high powered job that he was very successful in and done well career wise . However over the last couple of years he noticed that he wasn’t performing as well and was slower to get tasks done and a bit forgetful .
He put it down to getting a bit older so over a year we discussed retirement as the job was having a big impact on his mental health , at the same time he noticed that he had developed a tremor in one of his little fingers , a few years ago he had an op on this same hand for his ulner nerve .

He had it in his head that he was developing Parkinson’s so went to the Dr who ran simple arm tests and said it was ulner nerve related .
The tremor in the little finger seems to be getting worse so he seen a different Dr last week who rotated his wrist and said she could feel a cog and thinks there’s a possibility that he has Parkinson’s
shock scan understatement at the moment and I don’t think that Drs should guess and say a diagnosis without further tests so my oh is now waiting for a neurologist appointment

Any advice please ? Has anyone been through this ?

I hope he doesn't have Parkinson's.

My dad did. Many years before he got a tremor and got diagnosed, his sense of smell got very bad, plus he got a lot of constipation.

I think I would say try and enjoy life for now. If it is Parkinson's, there's nothing you can do to change it, so try and put it out of your minds and focus on enjoying yourselves. Maybe do something together you have always wanted to do?

Thanks for your reply , my oh does have other health issues Diverticulitis which causes constipation , sorry I didn’t mention but the left side little finger which has the Tremour also had an ulnar operation as he was experiencing weakness so he’s had two ops on that same arm .
He cycles and I read that this can put pressure on the ulnar nerve it doesn’t help that he’s already had problems .
