Hi all, I'm really struggling with constipation. Ive been taking the fybrogel sachets but theyre not working that well. Im going on holiday in a couple of days and I get even more constipated when I'm away. I dont have time to see a Doctor. What can I buy either online or in the shops (UK) apart from fybrogel that will help me be able to go to the toilet? And thats easy to take while away? Sachets arent always easy to make up with water when you're on holiday. Thank you

Get some prune juice from the supermarket now to start with! I swear by it! I had real issues recently and prune juice morning and evening got me moving very swiftly

Prune juice. I also sometimes buy baby pouches of prunes and that helps too.

I’d stop with the fybogel and take some laxido or movicol for the next couple of days. I think that is more likely to help you in the short term, it helps soften stool to make it move easier, rather than just adding more bulk with fybogel. Are you checking in luggage? If you are you could buy a bottle of lactulose to take with you. It’s quite mild, so needs a few doses to do much if things are really backed up, hence suggesting the other sachets before you go. Or maybe some glycerine suppositories, again, they pull water into the bowel to soften things and stimulate movement. Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids with all this. That by itself should help a little too.

If you can get Laxido, they are better than fibrogel, you can get it online from Superdrug but it isn’t sold in supermarkets/pharmacies. Coffee and magnesium helps me.

Laxido and prune juice did nothing for me. Senna tablets when needed, including every time I travel as travel is guaranteed to cause issues. Giving up gluten was a huge improvement for me.

As others have said, laxido, hope you manage to go before your holiday because if your like me, I find it impossible to go on holiday
