Iron test results

I have received these results (picture) from a recent blood test (routine due to some medication I am on long term). My hb is 94.
Is this something that could be explained by normal (for me) periods and being on bloodthinners (long term, no issues previously). I have been prescribed iron tablets and a follow up in 5 weeks.

Crikey, you must be feeling rough! Are you able to say what medication you're on as some might have an effect whereas others wouldn't?

No idea but your ferritin needs to be around 70 for healthy hair growth. You must feel awful!

I am on apixaban (bloodthinner), but have been for quite a few years with no issues. Definitely feeling rough and seem to constantly catch (minor) bugs. Hopefully the iron tablets will kick in soon! I thought all my symptoms were maybe peri menopause!

Ive found low Vitamin D can also make you feel lousy and catching everything possible. Did you get tested for that too? Just remember most medications including vitamins can take up to 3 months before you'll feel a difference, iron even longer, so keep persevering. Going from 5 to 70 could take a year. Make sure you take it with Vit C and 2 hours after/before any caffeine such as tea, coffee, cola and chocolate.

As an aside do you regularly get blood tests due to being on apixaban? I've been on it for over a year and except for one blood test 3 months in to check it was working I've had no further follow up.
