Pneumonia Chest Pain

How long did the chest pain after pneumonia last?
diagnosed with it on the 2.12.25, had two lots of antibiotics. Im not coughing anymore, mucus clear, sniffly nose. The pain in my chest and back has lessened but still there, especially when sneezing, also after I have walked anywhere (like round the supermarket). Triaged the nurse today and she just said it’s probably a pulled muscle , but I don’t think it is.

If it’s slightly different, it could be pleurisy. After 8 days in hospital with pneumonia, I was home for only 48 hours before returning for over another week with pleurisy.

@GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER Thanks , it’s not as bad as it was and it’s probably manageable, I just wanted advice off the doctors about how long chest pain last, my doctors just aren’t interested!! I hope you are ok now?

Thank you, I’m fine, it was over 2 years ago. I was on ABs for a total of 5 weeks!
I do hope your chest pain will soon be gone.
My pleurisy pain was in my side, different from the original pneumonia pain. (Luckily in only one lung.)

I had pleurisy after pneumonia was horrid and took 3 months to clear. Hopefully it's not that. Other things if it is left sided make sure its not myocarditis have seen alot of that post chest infections this year. Hopefully just a pulled intercostal muscle. Good luck.

I had covid pneumonia, the pain lasted a few weeks. It also returns whenever I get a virus, which is annoying. Get well soon, definitely insist on being checked if anything feels out of the ordinary or worries you.

@Midlifehereicome thank you , it’s on my right side and goes down into my back, where they initially heard the pneumonia and also showed on x rays, Im certain it’s not a pulled muscle.
@TickyTacky thank you, I have started with abit of a cold again, so wondered if that’s what’s making it worse.
