shivering and sweating at same time

im dreneched in sweat (tmi) but shivering at same time, feel freezing but heating is on high and am under huge duvet i have some sort of bug but why is it possible to shiver and sweat at same time - surely they are opposites?

sounds like youve got a very high temperature ,can you check it ? People often shiver when they have a really high temp .Might be worth taking a couple of paracetamol to bring it down if it is high ( above 38 ) , as long as you havent taken any medicine within the last four hours that already contains paracetamol ,hope you feel better soon

Check your temperature, it sounds like a high fever. Ibuprofen works better and faster at reducing a temperature, you can take both paracetamol and ibuprofen, not together so leave a 2 hr gap in between each. Make an appointment to see your GP in case you have an infection somewhere. I hope you are feeling better soon.
