Trapped nerve - back and shoulder

What a gift this has been for Xmas!
Slept on what felt like a wooden pellet for a mattress at the holiday cottage we were staying at, it started after the 1st night (21st Dec) and is not getting better, we have moved on to the next cottage since the 27th and the bed is more comfortable but I can't lie on either side or front I have to lie straight on my back for relief.
I have tried anti-inflammatorys but no ease. I'm sat against a radiator now to try and get relief. We are not back home until Saturday and I'm dreading the car journey, the 2nd leg was a 4hr journey being stuck in the M24.

Does anyone fellow mumsnetters know of any stretches to ease?
I'm at my wits end, I might call GP (based in Cheshire) tomorrow and get a strong pain relief sent to the local pharmacy here in Beaconsfield if that's hopefully possible? Just to get me home and no I won't be the one driving!

Ironically I slept on an actual wooden pallet over Christmas, I find heat helps! Not warm, but 1st degree burns level heat. I’d recommend getting some Codeine for the pain, most pharmacies sell Solpadiene (probably spelt wrong) which is 12.5mg codeine, 500mg paracetamol.

Lie on the floor with a tennis ball under your back and roll up and down on it. Also a towel rolled into a sausage and put along your spine. I get a trapped nerve under my shoulder blade all the time and these 2 things help!

You put the towel under your back when lying down if that wasn't clear!!!

Thank you both, it's leaving tingling and numbness in my right arm at the moment which is a tedious sensation on top!
My dog has a couple of glow balls with him so I will try them xx

I find ice a million times better for nerve pain than any amount of heat. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it eases quickly 💐

Pick up a TENS machine at a pharmacy.

I'm using Voltarol, you rub it on the painful area. I'm using it for shoulder to fingertips with extra attention to elbow wrist and finger joints. It is helping. Good luck.

Buy a plug in heat mat (Boots sell them or look online). I have a trapped nerve atm and the heat mat is the only thing that helps.

I would look at nerve flosses or glides for whichever nerve is trapped.

Oh thank you all.
We are seeing family tomorrow I haven't seen since summer 24 so I'll try what I can tonight xx
