Tongue thrush

Hoping someone has a good solution. I have what I believe is mild chronic thrush on my tongue caused by powdered inhaler use.

I had this once before and used daktarin which was brilliant but it’s not available any more. Nystatin just didn’t help. Any ideas? I know how to stop it coming back now, just need to get rid!

Are you sure its thrush? Does the coating come off if brushed?

Lichen Planus makes tongue white and sore, and can cause swelling too. The whiteness doesn't brush off, nystatin won't do anything- you'd need steroids.
It's an auto immune response. Alcohol and spicy foods worsen it.
Took me 2 GPs and 2 oral specialists before I got the correct diagnosis.

Hope it is thrush :)

You can get daktarin oral gel on the online pharmacy’s- I got some from Superdrug not long ago. They were out of it for a very long time though

Probably need an oral tablet like fluconazole to treat systemically rather than topically. A pharmacist should be able to sort you out.

Thanks all. It doesn’t scrape off, and it’s not that furry, just white (and not patches) so I do wonder if it is thrush. I might have jumped to that conclusion as I’ve had it before.
