Shingles but causing pain like a UTI?

About three weeks ago I had cystitis, got a three day course of antibiotics from the chemists which helped a bit but it didn't quite go. Went to the doctors on Monday and got another course of antibiotics but for five days, felt improvement after a day and finished them yesterday.

About two weeks ago my hip felt oddly tingly and I had a pimple there: annoying but thought nothing else of it. On Tuesday I was at the GP again as I realised it was shingles. Have some antivirals (so technically I am resistant to all illnesses at the moment!) but the shingles pain is in my hip and goes into my public area.

It feels like the UTI is back, even though the dip test at the surgery was clear. They sent it off but obviously with christmas it's not back yet. I don't have any of the burning pain when I wee, just the stinging, tingling. But I think it is mostly on the side where the shingles is. I googled it but that was just a couple of terrifying case studies with lasting bladder damage. So I have come to mumsnet! Grin Has anyone had shingles that has caused uti pain? I'm at a bit of a loss and feeling a bit miserable.

Edited for typos as my phones spellcheck apparently hates me.

I had shingles in the summer, on my boob. It caused a tingling sensation that mimicked what I felt when DD was breastfeeding and had slept/gone without a feed for too long so my breast was full. I think the sensation can make you compare to other known symptoms - if that makes sense? I’m definitely not producing milk anymore (DD is 6!) so it was definitely just the shingles causing the sensation.

Thank you. I definitely did have a uti but now I dont have any of that pain when peeing or feeling like I can't empty my bladder fully, just the sensitive tingling. And two courses of antibiotics should have sorted it! I suppose it makes sense that the shingles pain can be internal as well as on the skin.
