Our adult son has slept badly for years.
dh is the same .
He is now in senior leadership team in a school and the combo of
stress( tho he loves it )
kids germs
often 2 hrs sleep at night
has led to multiple illnesses. He has arrived for Christmas and gone straight to bed . Then we had to take him to local assesment centre as it may be tonsillitis- its a bad viral sore throat.
He went to gp and asked for sleeping pills but they refused. He took over the counter sleep aids and magnesium- didn’t help.
he needs sleep as this lack , I imagine is affecting his immune system.
he looks terrible and i am concerned about him driving ( 4 hr trip home)

he eats well, harldy drinks, plays sport , runs, has good friends and a g f . Is well balanced except for this issue which he has before his current job .
Can anyone suggest anything at all ??
Ive asked him to check his thyroid months ago , but he hasn’t.

could he take melatonin? Amy suggested thing’s welcome please.

I would suggest he insists on full blood review. Poor thing. No sleep is awful.
