Not an expert but a singing teacher; this comes up a lot!

Manage reflux seems to be the main thing!

Rule out any allergies eg dust mites

Lose weight - stops snoring

Neti pot / steam inhalation

Anti histamines daily. Nasal rinse. Steroid nasal spray. Lots of liquids and hot drinks. It's awful and once it's started it takes ages to stop, so keep going with the above.

Thank you. Which steroid nasal spray and antihistamines?

Loratidine. I wouldn’t use steroids as a first port of call personally!

See your GP. After antihistamines etc there is a surgical option (NHS or private).

Cetirizine, or if it's not working I get a prescription for levocetirizine. You can get an over the counter steroid nasal spray, or get a prescription one (avamys or nasacort). A pharmacist will help you with the over the counter options. You have to keep using them even if you think it's not working, it takes two or three weeks.

If you're prone to flare ups the advice can be to go straight in with the steroids to try to calm down the sinuses. That's what the allergist I went to advised for me.
