Has anyone had a manipulation of nose after a break - not a full rhinoplasty

Name change for this as don't want to be identified from other posts.
I recently broke my nose and am due to have it straightened/manipulated tmw under GA. It’s not a rhinoplasty.
The max fax specialist said that it was a v simple procedure and although my recovery from the break will be set back a bit, it would be good to hear of anyone who’s had it IRL.
We are going to a relative for Xmas dinner so that’s ok, DH and adult DCs can pull their weight around the house, etc. I usually recover well from a GA / had a few as an adult, all day cases and been fine after the initial grogginess has worn off.

Well, I had it done with no anaesthetic so your experience sounds already better than mine! I felt a bit sick and shaky after as it was not pleasant but there was no recovery per se, just a bit of pain, but not awful…just more broken nose pain.

Without GA - ouch! I assume you had a local though? Good to hear recovery is minimal as I’m recover quite well from the initial trauma (broke other facial bones too).

Good luck!

Didn’t even get a local! Maybe because of your other fractures this wouldn’t be possible. You poor thing!

Ouchy! There’s no way I’d let anyone near my nose without some form of anaesthetic. My cheekbones also fractured as did my lower jawbone (hairline). I’m still finding it hard to chew properly (forget nuts or anything remotely chewy) as well.

Updated to say it went well.
I did have the GA. The surgeon said it was too complicated to do under heavy sedation (which the anaesthetist said could be an option). She was lovely - really felt safe under her!

Now I have a plastered nose for Xmas - no photos tmw please (I’ll take them!) and it won’t be off for over 2 weeks. Luckily not doing Xmas dinner this year.
