Internal burning and tremors

For the past few weeks I’ve woke up suddenly almost every hour from a horrible intense burning sensation followed by tremors keeping me up all night as it’s a horrible feeling.

I’ve went back on my citalopram the past 3 days after being off it for a year and a half as I maybe thought it could be related to anxiety and I’ve been feeling anxious and panicky recently stemmed from stress but never felt this before and getting quite scared.

I should also put out there that I’ve got gastritis so also on omeprazole for that and know you can sometimes feel the acid from that but this is all over burning and shaking

has anyone else ever had this before ?

I had very very similar back in late 2022 for 10 months after a dose of Covid but also my 4th vaccination ( they were very close , unbeknown to me I must have had covid brewing when I had the jab) - in my case I got burning sensations particularly in eyes and forehead and internal tremors/buzzing in legs and 1 finger ( same one repeatedly) I was convinced it was something dreadful but it eased off after tests followed by beta blockers and a lot of breathing work and some vitamin supplementing ( b12 and Vit D and magnesium mainly) - neurologist described it as post viral neurological syndrome - have you had any recent virus you know of that could have triggered it or flu vaccine etc??

Gosh my friend is going through this at the moment too, sounds utterly horrendous but reassuring that it may be some terrible post viral thing! She’s thinking something terrible, her doc thinks perimenopause.

I wake up every single morning with internal shaking and going really hot plus a lousy feeling of dread. I know mine is down to anxiety but it doesn't help knowing that. I've had it for a couple of years so it's obviously nothing awful. The only good thing is that it disappears once I get up.
I think it is causes by cortisol which rises rapidly on waking.

@CrikeyalmightyI never ever got any Covid vaccines because I was scared of everything rang could have happened after. I got private bloods last week and at the hospital that all came back fine , my haemoglobin was fine , dno if that checks for all the over deficiency’s though but I got more blood took on Thursday at the doctors but won’t get them back until after Christmas. I’ve not had any viruses that I’m aware of , felt pretty fine like no cough no fever nothing so it’s very strange. All I can think is my anxiety or stress causing it. It’s like I drift off to sleep and then I feel this woosh of heat that comes with shaking and I can’t calm it or sleep or if I do get to sleep I sleep very light because I’m still aware of it

@ResusciAnniedid your friend have a virus ? I’m also thinking the worst , my brain runs away with itself and it doesn’t help my anxiety one bit. I spoke to my doc and asked about it but because I mentioned I get anxious she didn’t look to concerned 🙁 I’ve also thought about perimenopause with half of the symptoms I’m getting , but I’m only 27 but I guess you can go through it early.

@soundsofthesixtiesthats awful 😞 anxiety is honestly the worst , the physical symptoms that come with it honestly make you feel like your dying.
my tremors stick with me but again im going around in a circle because the gastritis is making me lose appetite so im not really eating during the day or at all then my anxiety and not sleeping won’t be helping my body at all
