DS19 Stomach Issues

My DS is 19. He is incredibly thin and always has been. No idea of his actual weight, but he is skin and bones. He eats a lot, and I mean a lot. He also gets terrible stomach pains around every few weeks. Trying to make him see a doctor is difficult, he just says "It'll be fine." I'm going to try and make it a bit clearer to him that he needs to go. But does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Sounds like he has some kind of food intolerance, or maybe an IBD. Does he notice certain foods might make him feel worse? Does he have any other symptoms like extreme fatigue, or constipation / diarrhoea?

My neighbour's son had this - at the same age. She knew he was thin but another neighbour approached her and asked her was he ok - that he had noticed he was getting very thin. He has been diagnosed with IBS and is on medication and slowly getting better.

Thank you. I'm going to look up IBS.

My son is 25 and has been having regular stomach pains often accompanied by committing. He went private and had all investigations but we haven’t got to the root of it, although all bad things ruled out such as cancer fortunately.
he’s been told to take nexium daily and since then hasn’t had a further attack. Frustrating though.
