Need advice on contraceptive pill

I have been taking Microgynon 30 for four years. I am due to finish a pack tomorrow. I am currently taking antibiotics for a dental absess which make the pill ineffective. I also read that taking the pill makes it more likely you will have complications after having a tooth removed due to the blood not clotting.

I was therefore wondering if it's possible to stop the pill for a month or so and then start again. Obvisouly other methods of contractpion would be needed but is there anything else I should be aware of?

I have never heared that taking the pill would make it more likely to have complications, where did you read that (curious). however there should be no problems with stopping for a month apart from contraception.

Never heard the clotting thing either.

Or course you can have a gap and restart but remember to use condoms in the meantime.

It would probably be wiser to start your next pack without your usual week off and also use condomsfor the duration of the course of ABs and the week after.
