My ds has a temp of 38.8. Was advised to give calpol by the emergecy dr this am when his temp was 38. I do have an appointment for him at 4 but should I do anything in the meantime?

have you stripped him to his nappy?

goingfor3 · 10/06/2008 14:34

He just has a muslin over his bottom.

If the Calpol hasn't brought his temp down, you could try sponging him with tepid water and stripping him off (probably the other way round would work better!)
Try not to worry but make sure the doctor knows you have given him Calpol and it hasn't brought his temp down when you see him.

that is good

a wet flannel on the back of his neck (water doesn't need to be freezing cold)

is he drinking?

goingfor3 · 10/06/2008 14:38

He's been drining his milk and has been wet. He's trying to poo now. Will try the flannel. Thanks.
