Weird one- DS has pain in the site of old head injury

Just wondering if anyone has experience of this?
Back in January 2018, DS3 who was 9 at the time suffered quite a bad head injury when he fell backwards off a stage. He had a large haematoma and concussion and was off school for a couple of weeks.

Thankfully, made a full recovery apart from a “nobble” on the back of his head (like a hard small lump) that has been there ever since. It’s only small, the size of a 10p, and only noticeable the first week or two after a haircut as no hair has grown on it since!

Until this week it has never hurt or been a problem, however he has started complaining of it being sore and painful, but like on the inside (headache like) rather than he’s accidentally bumped it and it being a bruise.

Anyone had something like this happen?

Not that exactly but I have in my time broken one arm and one leg and whilst it was years ago both still hurt sometimes. They sometimes ache but sometimes it is a more sharp pain. I wonder if it's something similar to that?

@Littletreefrog thanks- yeah I can’t really imagine it’s anything to worry about - I’m trying to be sensible about it as I have form for underplaying things and didn’t want to be too dismissive about it which is why I posted in case others had a similar experience.

I think it's worth asking a medical professional just to be sure especially with it being his head and I'm usually a "if your leg isn't hanging off you don't need a Doctor" kind of a mum.

Yes I would get it checked. Previous head injury is a risk factor for a bleed, and something quite innocuous could cause it.
