Been to GP saturday with a breast infecton - prescribed anti biotics and Naproxen for pain. I honestly feel so unwell I have had moments of breakimg down and crying. Medication has not touched it so far. Back at GPs again today and she has said it's an abscess which has got bigger since saturday and managed to get me in at breast clinic tomorrow for it possibly draining. What should I expect? Never had anything like this before and the pain is unreal and just making me utterly miserable. I am not breastfeeding - kids are teenagers and don't smoke so does anyone know what might have caused it? Also how long after drainage do people need off work? I have the dreaded call of ringing my male boss tomorrow to say I won't be in.

It’s a very fast improvement- a friend had it done. She’s late 50s? It was a bit sore, but nothing like as sore as before it was drained. The issue is where your clothes sit. Her bra rubbed it, so it was a slower recovery.
