Hi, my DD started complaining of mild tummy pain near her belly button on Friday morning but seemed ok in herself. Later on she was at a party and jumping/dancing when she came over crying saying her tummy was sore towards her appendix area.
We took her straight to A&E where they did a urine sample and said they would do bloods, 2 1/2 hours later the doctors changed and we seen a different doctor who said her pain wasn’t severe enough for appendicitis and it was viral.
By Sunday she was complaining of tummy being sore near enough constantly but not severe still. Back to A&E and doctor felt her tummy and when pressing on left side she said her right side hurt. No temp and no vomiting and seems well in herself so said he still doubts it’s appendicitis and agrees with it being viral but to come back if it gets worse.
Today, Tuesday, she is no better but no worse. Still says her tummy hurts. Went to see GP for another opinion and still only mild pain near appendix area. GP said either food intolerance or Acid reflux. Did another urine sample as no record of A&E sending one off to the lab.
I’m not convinced.. she’s not one to complain and with her feeling ok in herself but constant tummy pain my gut is just telling me something isn’t right but I feel no one is taking us seriously?

I experienced this with my son when he was about 7 years old. He presented as though he has appendicitis but was diagnosed with Mesenteric Adenitis which is inflammation of the lymph nodes in the abdomen and mimics Appendicitis. Treatment was rest, pain relief and l think antibiotics.lt took a few weeks to settle down.
