Been given nitrofurantoin

Has anyone been given this for a kidney infection , I told him I have pain in my kidneys and blood and leukocytes In my urine and he proscribed me this over the phone without even seeing a sample. Really scared it’s not going to work 😭

I've had it for a UTI and it worked fine. Not sure about a kidney infection though

I think it's quite commonly prescribed for UTI symptoms nowadays, with no sample provided - I've had it a few times. The only problem I've had with it most recently is that the 3 day course didn't get rid of the infection so it came back & I then needed a 7 day course, which wasn't great.

Standard first port of call for me back in my UTI days. Worked a treat. You know it’s an antibiotic? Why would you think it’s not going to work?
