How long can snot and cough last

I had what I think was flu last week and was in bed with fever etc. for a couple of days followed by two sofa days.

I've been blowing my nose for the last five days with a combo dry cough and clear phlegm yellow phlegm mix cough.

I'm on ABs due to another condition plus infection signs and have three more days to go.

But the snot and cough - are they with me for life? 😂

No of course not.

Keep up the fluids, do a sauna if you can or otherwise hot steamy bathroom shower/bath/inhale steam.

I'm on day 10 of thick snot, and counting, but it is getting better

Ooh a hot bath is a very good idea, thanks!

Day 10 oh no!

Depends if it’s in your sinuses

Theunamedcat · 05/12/2025 16:26

Get a nose spray

PinkSkies2026 · 05/12/2025 19:05

3 weeks...okay sounds doable!

I’m not trying to be funny but that is what good old nhs pages states.

I had a friend down on the Friday back to normal on the Monday.

I calculate I have spent nearly or best part of £30 and I imagine if you go into a pharmacy, on hearing someone whizzing the first response will be have you tried a
GP 🙈 can I place a bet on that! Lol

Don’t waste your money on the new vicks applicator for that is useless.
