Acid reflux/Gerd constant burping. Anyone else experienced this?

Hi there, wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I’ve had an on going health issue with reflux now for 2 years. It started with hoarseness & sore throat but now involves constant burping, regurgitation sounds when swallowing & coughing at night. It’s really getting me down and I’m terrified of getting some awful health condition off the back of it. I’m had a camera down my stomach and they said everything looked fine & have prescribed more PPIs and acid blockers however I’ve been on those before & they made no difference & come with long term consequences if used a lot. I’m at my wits end and it’s getting me so down. I’m not overweight, I eat healthily most of the time and exercise regularly. Any advice from anyone who has had this would be so helpful to me right now,
thank you

I don’t get this but my ex, son and nephew do - obviously a family thing.
I don’t believe PPIs are a problem to take long term, just need to take a B12/magnesium supplements alongside them as they can make it hard to absorb those and calcium.

I have this also , drives me crackers and no end in sight also on PPI , I do suffer horrendous anxiety and it keeps being linked to that 😕

I had this so badly. It started occasionally after meals, then over time it moved to after every meal, and then it was every mouthful I ate was causing burning. It made me utterly miserable. Drs couldn’t find anything wrong. Then I tried cutting foods out of my diet to try and pinpoint what was triggering it and I realised that when I stopped eating food containing gluten it disappeared completely after having plagued me for years. I have now been gluten free for 18 months and never get it anymore.

I've been on a high dose of PPI for twenty years. Absolutely no side effects. You do need to take them every day, watch your diet and relax. Then iver time you may be able to very gradually reduce the dose or the number of times a week you need to take it.
