Hello - has anybody had any experience in taking pregablin? I have been prescribed 75mg for restless legs to take at night time but a bit scared to take it.

Any short or long term side effects? Did it help you? Thank you! Any experiences welcome!

I was prescribed it but it's been linked to dementia so I didn't take it in the end. I figured pain is better than dementia.

@Checknotmymateoh gosh. Yes I agree with you, I think I might pass.

I mean do your own research. This was a year or so ago and I've not checked recent studies.

My DH was prescribed it several years ago for chronic back pain whilst being told to avoid Tramadol as it was very addictive. Turns out, for my DS anyway, that the Pregabalin was far more addictive. In so much as the pain relief was very effective, but he quickly required a higher and higher dose to get the same efficacy. This happened very fast. It started to affect his mood, so he stopped it altogether.

DH (40’s) took it for a while for arthritis back pain. He was very very spaced out as he got used to the dose, increasing gradually. You could speak to him and know he wasn’t taking in what you were saying.
It did work for pain relief for a good while, 18mths maybe but then seemed to lose effectiveness, so he stopped. The withdrawal, even stopping slowly was quite tough and he never felt himself while on it.
I think it does work well for lots of people though, the only way is to try really OP.
I think it must be pretty cheap as it seems the go-to prescribed pain killer these days, I know of several people taking it.

It didn't do a lot for me apart from giving me a blocked nose
