Most sugar!
it’s now an occasional thing I consume where formerly it completely fuelled me.

RobinTheCavewoman · 29/11/2025 18:03

Alcohol (pretty much, did have a baileys yesterday but that was the first drink in weeks/months).

Gettingbysomehow · 29/11/2025 18:04

All my excess fat courtesy of mounjaro, all sugar but I'll maybe have a rice pudding at the weekend, UFP to include crisps and ready meals, oh yes....and men. That's one big hassle I don't need.

tinyspiny · 29/11/2025 18:05

Carbs or most of them .

Gettingbysomehow · 29/11/2025 18:05

And alcohol. I've been teetotal for around 6 years.

Archymum · 29/11/2025 18:05

Alcohol. Been sober 4 years.

icantbelieveitsnotcake · 29/11/2025 18:06

Alcohol.

As I got into my 40s I just couldn't handle it any more and it made me feel miserable the next day and wrecked my sleep no matter how small the glass was.

My skin glows now and I sleep like a baby

something2say · 29/11/2025 18:07

I fast whenever I feel bloated or full. I drink plenty of water and then just delay eating. The longer I go the better I feel. I try to do one 24hr fast per week and break it with home made soup. Honestly I feel much better.

RescueMeFromThisSilliness · 29/11/2025 18:07

Newspapers. I've also stopped listening to the news on the radio on my commute to work, and I watch tv news & current affairs programmes no longer.

Worked wonders for my blood pressure.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 29/11/2025 18:07

Nothing. Everything in moderation.

Bookaholic73 · 29/11/2025 18:08

Alcohol.

I’d love to eliminate processed sugar but I’ve tried so many times and failed. I will try after Christmas.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 29/11/2025 18:09

Overeating....I now weigh and calorie counting everything I eat with 2 or 3 "cheat" days a month.

Its made a massive change and has become such a part of my lifestyle now its super easy. I've dropped 2 dress sizes and am now working on muscle building.

Please tell me how you did this. I run on the stuff too.

Olive567 · 29/11/2025 18:13

Ex DP. I now have a peaceful home with no more walking on egg shells. My anxiety and addictive junk food habits have subsided. Sleeping much better now too. Lots of wins that will have big physical impact on my health, i'm sure.

I too eliminated sugar - and a lot of carbs, especially processed - pretty much.

I found Dr Mark Hyman’s The Blood Sugar Solution very helpful.

Also Dr Becky Gillaspy’s videos on YouTube.

Mounjaro!
Id never have managed it without, I have insulin resistant PCOS and it’s the worst thing for it so I was so keen to give it a go.
I barely touch the stuff now. Never eat a biscuit, sweets or chocolate. Nor any of the processed things I used to eat that also contain a load of sugar!

Purplemoor · 29/11/2025 18:19

Alcohol, Sugar, Dairy, Gluten and UPF’s.

The Gluten followed blood tests and GP advice.

The Dairy was to test suspicions that I had become intolerant. And having reintroduced, with an outbreak of Eczema, it looks like I have.

The Alcohol and Sugar was originally to calm down inflammation, but then I realised I had hit on a natural way to reduce food noise. Three months and 20lb later I no longer crave either. The first 7 days of no sugar is tough, but then I woke up one day and just felt amazing.

That just left UPF’s. The noise around UPF’s a.t.m made me question what was actually in ready meals and having cut out Gluten, Dairy and Sugar it just became easier to cook from scratch.

Yep, XH. I was ill all the time. Realise now how much was triggered by stress. I’m so much happier.

tinyspiny · 29/11/2025 18:25

I should probably add that I’ve been teetotal since I was 19

elQuintoConyo · 29/11/2025 19:14

Cut: sugar, flour,/gluten, white potatoes, white rice, lactose. No UPFs.

I was having stomach pains, also perimenopausal and having a shit time, doctors had no idea what was wrong, so I cut out this food. I also fast 2 hours between dinner and breakfast. Like a pp, if I feel bloated or have a flare up, I drink green tea and fast longer, than some homemade soup.

I feel better, sleep better, have fantastic skin, I'm hydrated, have more energy. Ditching sugar was daunting, but with ten days I could walk through the chocolate and biscuit aisles of shops without a pause - the thought of a cake... meh. I don't miss it.

Working on reducing gluten and sugar. I have not drank alcohol for years and I don't eat pork anymore.

TigerRag · 29/11/2025 19:16

Milk and alcohol

BlondeBonBon · 29/11/2025 19:19

Most processed foods and alcohol, although I still have the odd glass with friends once a month or so.

i also exercise much much more

YelramBob · 30/11/2025 00:20

My boobs. Not what I wanted removed but it saved my life apparently.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/11/2025 14:25

Not physical, but deleting my Twitter account when Trump got in massively helped my mental health.

I'm about 7 months caffeine free and am getting far fewer headaches.

I'm now trying to do every other month as alcohol free. I don't drink loads generally anyway, but I like the feeling of discipline that my system gives me.

I really need to do something about the sugar, but finding that a much harder nut to crack.
