Getting my gallbladder removed tomorrow after nearly 2 years of hell!! Excited but so unbelievably nervous.

I’m nervous as I know surgery comes with more risks with a higher BMI, I have lost 2 stone recently but still not exactly slim.

does anyone have any tips on recovery also? I have a toddler to look after so a little worried

Good luck tomorrow. I hope that you recover quickly.

I haven’t experienced it personally but my Mother had the surgery with no complications whatsoever. It was life changing for her. She was slightly tender for a few days and that was it.

Hopefully someone with more experience will reply but I would forget any rules about screen time and such with your toddler and make mostly freezer food /microwave/simple meals. Just go(Within reason) with what’s easiest to make it as easy as possible on yourself as if you were ill. Normal service can resume once you’ve recovered.

Overweight, older person here. I had my gall bladder removed at lunchtime and was home for supper. No pain after the op. I don’t think you will be able to pick up your toddler for a couple of weeks. Hope it goes well.

I had mine out 4 years ago...was absolutely fine. Recovered very quickly....sore for a couple of days but other than that no discomfort
