Does this sound like Multiple Sclerosis?

For the past 2 months I’ve been suffering with feelings of general body weakness combined with tingling hands and feet (like pins and needles), tremors in my arms and at times different limbs go numb. At first I thought it could potentially be a food allergy, or high blood sugar, both of those have been cleared. Any thoughts? I’ve been to my GP, but they seem reluctant to investigate further and have essentially said it’s all in my head, their words were ‘sounds like it could be stress caused by your familial issues’

I don't know. Please go back to your GP if you aren't satisfied that they're taking you seriously, or seek a second opinion.

All I will say is that my friend's first symptoms of MS were regular episodes of pins and needles in her legs.

Hope there's nothing of concern, OP, but imo those symptoms need evaluating.
Sending good wishes.
(ETA I'm not a doc.)

Hi OP. I am not a doctor but had lots of symptoms, some like yours. Was tested for MS over 10 years ago and they said not that. Have hasa a fair few ct and mri scans over the years( which showed some changes they linked to migraines) and have vestibular and chronic migraines and recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia/ chronic fatigue syndrome. I do not think it unreasonable to push for further tests. Including Blood tests for B12,Vit D, inflamatory markers and anything else on offer. Depending on results or maybe not depending on them..nerve conduction tests, mri etc. It sounds like you are going to need to ask your GP....you are not being unreasonable. Some peri meno symptoms are like yours too. So no one can really tell you on here. Good luck.

I have MS and tingling hands and feet (spreading up my legs) were my main symptoms that led to diagnosis. It could be MS or loads of other things. If you’re worried about MS I’d push for an MRI scan. It’s a low risk investigation and would rule in/out various neurological conditions. But it’s very common to be fobbed off. I’m fortunate that I was taken seriously but I know that’s unusual!

Thank you so much all! I’m definitely going to get a second opinion
