Over a month ago I started getting vaginal burning internally (not when peeing) then it followed with some urinary symptoms and just general discomfort. My GP did urine and swabs, the swab came back positive for thrush and got prescribed some Fluconazole. I wasn’t expecting thrush as I had these symptoms before and was positive for bv maybe 3 times this year and that was no smell or discharge just burning and urinary stuff.

My period was then arriving and so delayed treatment due to that, once my period finished was still experiencing symptoms so took the fluconazole ,
a week then passed and still felt off there, and my partner had sex even though I said no so took another and well went to sexual health to get checks and every test is back normal. Even my previous thrush swab from GP is now normal with sexual health who has the labs to hand, the annoying thing is when sexual health done exmaination they used a salt water type gel thing to get a look and take the swabs which left me irritated then boyfriend had when I told him it wasn’t…so I’m now feeling the burning again (internal) and like something is not 100 could it be thrush is back as he had sex same night and if hes not been treated (sexual health said no need to treat) can thrush present so quick again after being negative at sexual health…and why would it .( i’m torn whether to get tested for ureplasma which gps don’t test?

What can we realistically say to you except that if symptoms persist, go back to your physician?

About thrush. It is possible to pass it back and forth between yourself and your partner, just like you can pass athlete’s foot by sharing each other’s slippers. With that in mind, he should seek treatment, too.

I’ve seen them a few times now and sexual health, I’ve also been referred to gynaecologist but in meantime really was just looking for others experiences if thrush can persist in this way
as its really bringing me down

they also said he wouldn’t need treated if showing no symptoms but fine info online says otherwise :(

How old are you?

"and my partner had sex even though I said no"

oh dear.

Regarding the symptoms, I'd try yoghurt for for a few days. I had a persistent fungal problem a few years ago and after lots of Canesten and Fluconazole but still recurrences so I decided to try tampons dipped in yoghurt. Did that for a couple of days and I was cured. Make sure the yoghurt has Lactobacillus acidophilus. And don't be having sex when you don't want to.
