Looks like a bruise but not (bottom
of big toe). Appeared overnight. No pain or swelling. Any ideas?

New shoes that rub or put undue pressure on end of big toe?

It looks like a bruise. Bet you knocked your foot against something or a tight shoe. There doesn't have to be pain and swelling with bruises.

Is there something that makes you think it's not a common bruise/mark?

Thanks both. @waitam no not especially other than there was no pain and I’ve only ever had pain with a bruise and I have no idea how I’ve done it 🤣
