First period - insanely heavy

Is this remotely normal? Dd is 11.5 and only day 4 of her first ever period. Leaking through super absorbent modibodi , leaked through leggings and needed to change pad three times. I have adenomyosis so trust me I’m use to heavy periods . But for a first one??

kotex night was my best friend early on

Yes my granddaughter's first two periods were absolutely horrendous. Flooding within 2 hours.

But thankfully it all calmed down fairly quickly into a normal routine

My first one was wild, so so heavy. I actually don’t have heavy periods at all either and never have other than that first one (and when I got the copper coil but that’s another story)

My first 4 were like this. My family knew when I was on because I'd be as pale as a ghost due to how extreme it was!

My DD’s second period was dreadful. Lasted a month and was extremely heavy for at least 10 days. Flooded when we were just about to get on a 12 hour flight :( I was worried, but she’s been fine for the last few.

Oh good lord…. a month!?!

im really trying to play it cool for her, and bless her, she’s being a trooper. She’s still doing sports etc and thankfully no pain but holyS it’s a blood bath.

I really hope the next one will be less brutal. And that this one trails off soon but at the moment there seems no sign of it stopping.
