Can’t keep food in - diarrhoea & pregnant

I caught a stomach bug from my toddler (only diarrhoea, no vomiting). It’s been 48 hours now and I can’t keep any food in. I’ve been sticking to the BRAT diet but even dry toast causes me to run to the bathroom within 30 mins - 1 hour. I’ve been drinking plenty and I don’t think I’m dehydrated but at what point should I call the doctor? I’m 10 weeks pregnant which is the main thing I worry about.

The first day I didn’t have much appetite and I was so exhausted that I was basically in and out of consciousness all day but I feel fine in myself today and I feel hungry. I just can’t eat and keep any food in 😭

Any tips?

Call the doctor.

Talk to your gp / midwife

Don't worry too much. It is unlikely to effect the pregnancy but it's not much fun at all and is worrying, of course. Try to stay hydrated. I had campilobacter during two pregnancies. Just awful, lasting for days and days but no lasting effects.

I had constant diarrhoea for the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy with DD. Nobody could explain it other than to say it could be hormonal. I lost a stone (20.5 BMI start point) and baby was fine even though I was exhausted. Keep hydrated.
