Thankyou for advice in advance! I'm about to start prep
today for colonoscopy tomorrow.

I'm having some help with childcare today while I'm taking the medication/ emptying bowels but wondering how long I will need help for? Are you on the toilet the whole day??

Thankyou!

Unless you have another medical condition, id say to get help for the day of the colonoscopy and the day after and he'll maybe another day if you want to milk it! 😉 It doesn't take long to feel yourself again though really.

Probably all day and some of the night too. It's hard going but worth it.
I had to stay near the bathroom all day and literally go back and forth. I'd literally have to drop everything (watching TV) and dash to the loo.

Had one recently. After the first drink nothing much happened and I was fine, after the second I was on and off the loo for about 3 hours, would have been hard with a toddler as needed to get to loo quickly! Afterwards I was a bit lethargic as I was sedated during it, so would say if you can get help definitely get some.

No harm having bread and marmalade or easily digestible foods in too for a few days. I always remember the feeling of being handed tea and toast in the waiting area after my colonoscopy. It was the best tea and toast I've ever had 😅

Could be worth having a small suprise on hand for your toddler too. Something that will keep them busy for ages! It could you a bit more space to get over it. I've no doubt you'll be fine though 😊
