Help! Lost voice and never ending cough

For nearly two weeks now I’ve had no voice and a tickly cough which is keeping me up at night. I have tried cough sweets, medicine, Vicks etc - nothing is working. I’m now starting to produce phlegm (sorry) too so it feels like it’s changing but not going, and the cough is still dry and tickly (not chesty)

Dr diagnosed laringitis and said it’s not contagious and just to rest - but it’s not working! And I still have no voice!

PLEASE give me your tips and remedies! I have a special birthday dinner and hotel stay planned with DH in 48 hours so willing to do literally anything to improve it before then

Thank you!

To sooth airways - Steam bath, Massage,
Get moving - especially to the point where you feel you’re really pushing air through

learn how to cough properly (deeply, huff cough) to clear phlegm, and to stop cough (to avoid irritating the tickle)

Are you taking antihistamine?
am sure you’re doing all the traditional honey, whiskey, lozenges

good luck and enjoy the celebration!

Have you ever smoked? If yes, and your voice has still not returned, please get yourself back to the doctors and don't let them brush you off with its just a cough.
