Around lunchtime I was eating some toast and a back tooth cracked! 😷 I love in Northern Ireland, 58 with osteoporosis for my sins. Anyway, it's taken me 6 hours of calling 23 dentists (one was 50miles away) just getting no where. No nhs dentists. No help, no support nothing. Not even a waiting list. Tried 111 not available in Northern Ireland...... Guess I'll have to resort to string 🧵

Catch the bus to your neatest town and use the local dentists

Op just said she has tried up to 53 miles away. I expect the nearest town is included Hmm

I imagine that you would be able to have an appointment tomorrow if you put your money on the table, can you do that ?

Not on universal credit I can't. Given that I've worked most of my life in care myself, it's very disheartening

England here. It’s about to cost me £650 private for an extraction! Lucky enough to work so have been putting money aside. NHS won’t do it as it’s ‘complicated’. Dentist referred me 6 months ago to an NHS hospital for it but heard nothing. Just can’t wait any more because of the pain. Sorry state of affairs. Feel for you. Those who are reliant on benefits get such a poor deal, contrary to what prevailing media discourses spout about people on benefits.

Some dental schools in England see emergencies. I don't know if there would be that option in Northern Ireland?
