DF keeps having heart attacks

My DF (85) and has now had his 4th heart attack this year. He does not have any pain with the heart attacks - he just suddenly becomes incredibly exhausted, fights to breathe, and can barely move. He has (so far) refused any form of operation to assess or repair any damage but has been prescribed medication which seems to help (or at least means he can breathe and move about more freely).

I keep trying to persuade him to have the operation the hospital suggests but he is absolutely adamant that he won't.

What can i expect the future to be? Is it likely he will just go on having these small attacks, deteriorating further each time as his heart becomes more damaged, or are these warning shocks of a big one to come?

Could be either/ or OP. Each time he has one his heart tissue will be damaged and he might develop heart failure symptoms if not already. May have a large heart attack one day. No way to tell.

Tbf at 85 I don't think I'd want to go under a general anaesthetic. It sounds like he's made his choices OP. Not comforting for you though I know.
