What is the best way to deal with this? Can i get anything over the counter? My only experience is my own when i was his age and had endless visits to the chiropodist who had to cut it out!

DD had one recently. A trip to the (fab) practice nurse at GP surgery resulted in some paint stuff (whihc I suppose you could buy) which was PITA as you had to peel it off every night and reapply. DD hysterical (drama queen) so went back a week later and she froze it, then did it again a week after that. Got rid complete with NO PAIN for DD.

I'd recommend that, rather than faffing around wiht lotions

Oh, yes, I endured that too! [wince]
You can get stuff at the chemist that is pretty effective i think. It's come a long way since our Dickensian childhoods, lol!

I successfully got rid of mine by putting banana skin on it, inside of skin next to varucca, and covering with duct tape. Every day I'd put a new peice on. After ten days the verrucca, which I'd had for 4 years and nothing else had shifted, disappeared.

Freezing is certainly the quickest way, though the level of pain seems to depend on who's wealding the liquid hydrogen!

For over the counter stuff I recommend one called Bazuka. (I think that's how it's spelt)
It's a paint on one. (Works best if you remove the top skin as it is 'killed' to expose the fresh underneath, but that might not be everyone's cup of tea)

Thank you everyone.I hadnt thought of the practice nurses.Interesting re the duct tape..

Do a search on here for verrucca and banana. I know it sounds nuts but have a read.

OverMyDeadBody · 05/06/2008 12:33

Banana works. Honestly.
