Peri menopause?

I am 45, fit and well but am in the peri menopause for sure.
Blood tests confilrm and periods few and far between now.
I am so bloody miserable, I feel constantly angry and depressed.
Everyone and every thing is annoying me.
I am horrible to be around and I try so hard not to be.
I do have a really stressful life (complex needs children) which doesn’t help.
But I have never felt this bad, and I did have PND with my last child 10 years ago.

I am thinking it is to do with going through the menopause?
Is there anything I can do to self-help? Can the doctors help?

Start HRT. Also go to the Balance Menopause website (or App) for lots of info, factsheets, brilliant podcasts full of evidence-based support.

Ive gradually upped my HRT as ive gone through peri & now menopause and I've never felt better.

Thank you, have you had any side effects with HRT?
Think I'll book a GP appointment and I'll deffo look up that website you have recommended.

No side effects, only massive positives for both my mental and physical health.

All HRT is now pretty much body identical, natural hormones (unlike oral contraceptives that are synthetic / not body identical - hence often side effects because they don't fit the receptors properly).

I’m a couple of months shy of 45 and started HRT about 6 weeks ago. It wasn’t the magic bullet but I’ve noticed small incremental changes. The hot flushes stopped within 2 weeks but I’ve noticed I just feel calmer. More able to cope with stress and if I’m irritated about something it doesn’t destabilise me for the whole day like it used to.
I’m hopeful the improvements will keep coming- my sleep is still all over the place but I would definitely try it

Seems very positive, thank you for replying.
Even if it helps me feel 50% better to how I feel now that will be a bonus.

Definitely get HRT OP. You may need to push depending on whether your GP is properly informed or not (I needed to insist at 45). It utterly changed my life for the better; magic bullet territory for sure.
