I’ve had thrush previously years ago and use to have a reoccurring issue with it so have taken Fluconazole long term at one point and various doses through years.
two weeks ago I started feeling a internal burning which is what i’ve had with BV before, and just discomfort. No itching no smell, no discharge, sexual health did the swab previously and right away had Bv maybe 5 times this year
I assumed BV again but sexual health said they wouldn’t see me as more GP issue
went to gp and they got me to self swab, did urine sample and its came back I have thrush, i’m now on my period but I only felt itchy maybe one day of those two weeks of these symptoms
can thrush present this way? Ie just internal burning tingling, there was no pain with sex prior to period starting
i’ve had sexual health checks and fine and since being with this guy (4 months) its the first time I’vr had infection come back whether its thrush or bv etc

could my period clear the thrush without needing to take fluconazole or take it once period finishes? Or lactic acid but is that more bv? Scared of resistance
this is very long sorry
sexual health said how swabs aren’t always accurate so part of me worries what if this swab isn’t…and its not thrush as had no obvious symptoms b

Should he also be treated or all fine? Ie with thrush if no symptoms

Did they send the swab off and it come back with thrush? Then if so it's accurate... your more likely to get a false negative than a false positive. In terms of treatment your body might keep it in check naturally. Most people have a small amount of thrush bacteria in their microbiome. In terms of having sex, are you using condoms? As both bv and thrush can ping pong back and forth!

Yeah, I’m so shocked it’s thrush as last time I got treated for BV and pretty much same symptoms and it went away (lactic acid) yeah no condoms, this is first time this has happened since being with him do you think he’d need treatment since first?
as no symptoms for him

He needs treated as well.

If it continues I'd say you would both need treatment. Also, if the bv reoccurs get checked for something called trichomoniasis , they don't routinely check for it and it can cause itching and a bv type smell

You can buy the test for BV and thrush and also the treatment in the supermarket OP. You don't need to go back and forwards to doctors or clinics
