Hiya, I have had an ongoing battle of missed periods, excruciating pains when I do get a period. And just day to day stomach/back pains.
Today I received a text from my doctors informing me that I have polysystic ovary syndrome, and that I can make a follow up appointment if necessary - was given a leaflet and I’m just extremely overwhelmed.
If anyone could give me any tips on managing pain? How they go forward after receiving a diagnosis it would be very much appreciated!
TIA x

You might find that your symptoms are ignored unless you are ttc but there are actually options. Metformin can be prescribed for example or some types of contraceptive pill may help. You should certainly be offered help for your pain. Make another appointment with the GP and ask if you should be referred to a gynaecologist/endocrinologist or what the options are for treating you in primary care.
