Neck acne eruption

About 4 weeks ago I woke up to an eruption of spots on my neck, jawline and chest. Did all the usual, washed cushions, covers, washing bed linen even more regularly than usual, bought CeraVe blemish cleanser and have been carefully washing and treating with benzoyl peroxide, Weleda purifying lotion, hydro-star pimple patches etc to not much avail. I’m going to try to see my GP at his week but does anyone have experience of this? I’m 48, have never been particularly spotty aside from the very odd blighter. I woke up this morning and it’s even worse, the spots are red with no discernible head, a bit sore and confined to my neck and chest and look bloody awful. I’m uncertain if I’m peri as had a mirena coil and started on eostrogel a few years ago which stopped my periods then.

Have you tried taking an antihistamine?

ilovemydogandmrobama2 · 12/10/2025 16:12

are you sure it's acne and not an allergic reaction to something?

I have similar on my back. Similar age and my GP has told me it’s erratic hormones and not much i can do.

No, do you think it’s worth a try? I’ve never had an allergic response before.

This is what I’m worried about. Surely there’s something they can suggest.

They were prepared to give antibiotics but I declined.

I’d say it’s worth a try for sure. Also, try cutting dairy out for a week or so see if it makes any difference, it can really aggravate acne x
