GLP-1 - e.g. Ozempic - Functional Alcoholism

Quick question, has anyone used a GLP-1 type medication to wean themselves off alcohol?

I started the application and obviously I could lie and just try it but I just wondered if anyone had managed to use the lowest possible dosage and escape their addiction.

It has been trialled for this sort of thing.

It’s not prescribed for it.

It puts some people off alcohol but not all. Has no effect on alcohol on me and quite a few people I know.

It's currently in trials, some good results. But H still drinks while on Mounjaro/Tirzepatide, he's currently on 12.5mg (started on lowest dose of 2.5mg) and still drinking.

That said, if you go to the Mounjaro wli boards, there do seem to be a fair number of users who find that it does decrease interest in alcohol.
