Ive just been diagnosed with this, after months of increasing tightness and chest pains. Next step is to take calcium blockers.

Has anyone else had this who could advise? It all seems quite benign so long as the drugs work. How long should it take before I can walk 50 yards without having to sit down?!

You need to see a cardiologist and be considered for EP studies/ablation or a cardioversion

You should be assessed for anticoagulation.

Beta blockers are usually the first line treatment?

Triggers can be:
Excess caffeine
Alcohol
Stress
Exercise
Infection
Low magnesium levels
Thyroid dysfunction

Thank you Crisps. The GP seems to think he can manage it himself? Maybe I misunderstood that.

Apparently I can't do beta blockers because Im asthmatic. Im off to Google everything else you said! Are you a HCP?
