hiya. Was just wondering if anyone has been in the same or similar situation.

I went to a consultant appointment today about a scar on a my stomach that has been causing me some pain. I laid on the bed and showed the consultant but before he even looked at the scar he questioned me about a mole on my lower stomach. I said I don’t even really remember ever seeing it (I have real bad body dysmorphia and try to avoid looking at my stomach) he then said he’s not willing to discuss my scar until this mole has been seen and has put me on a two week pathway to been seen.

The mole in question is all different colours and very uneven sides. I don’t know whether to be worried or not. He seemed quite concerned, but I have no other symptoms at all.

any advice or experiences with this would be great. Thank you.

If you’ve been out on a 2 week pathway, it’s being dealt with as quickly as it possibly can be which means you’ll find out what dermatology (sometimes plastics) think it is. The best thing you can do is not Google suspicious moles and wait for the appointment, maybe take a friend or family member with you for support.

I hate google sometimes.
All the best OP, whatever is is, nothing or something, it's being dealt with in the fastest way. Try not to worry although I know it's easier said than done.

Thank you. I don’t think it’s anything as no other symptoms and it’s not itchy or anything just looks suspicious

I think it’s great that it’s being looked at for precaution but could also be an old mole where the skin had stretched. Hope it’s checked and found no worry

Thank you. Trying so hard not to google anything.

DH is mole-man! Pretty much every time he goes to the GP they spot a mole that needs checking out. None of them are ever cancerous but it's great that they care.

You are in a win-win situation. Chances are it's fine and you just have a caring GP. If it is not fine, thank God for the GP who spotted it and fast-tracked you to have it dealt with.

thank you. I’m really hoping but it is so hard not to panic. It was a top plastic surgeon consultant that spotted it. Hope my appointment comes through soon
