Meningitis jabs

We live in Italy and meningitis jabs are not compulsory. The dr told us that for ds2 (11 weeks) to have the jab would cost over 100euros! She advises that we have it done because we go to the UK a lot and it could easily be picked up. We dont have a dr in the UK so what do we do? We are going to the UK to see my parents in 2 weeks and so I think ds should have the jab. How do we find a dr? Do we just go to a normal practice and see if a dr would give it to him privately? Has anyone any experience of this?

Yes definitely. As DH said when we left the drs 'All it takes is for 1 or 2 children in Italy to die of meningitis and then it will be made compulsory.'

It is for ds2 who is 11 weeks, Lockets. We will try and get it done when we are in the UK but was wondering how to get a private doctor as I am not registered with a dr in the UK anymore.
