Chest injury- any tips?

I tripped over yesterday and landed on my front on a concrete path. My left upper chest took the brunt - the area below my collar bone and above my boob. It was hugely painful and I couldn't get a full breath in so I went to A&E. Luckily the xrays showed no break which is great but I do have heavy bruising. Treatment is complete rest for 10 days. Plus co-codamol.

The pain is also radiating round and under my armpit into my back and is especially sharp when I move or reach or stretch.

Has anyone had a similar impact injury and got any tips for managing the pain? It really does take my breath away and makes me feel a bit sick. Im alternating the co-codamol with ibuprofen and also have some arnica cream. Anything else I can do? And/or any reassurances that it'll settle soon as it's bloody painful! Thanks.

That sounds horrible I’m sorry. Hopefully the pain will start to reduce soon. Maybe a hot water bottle ?
