Nitrofurantoin - body aches/muscle pain

I'm one day in to taking nitro for uti and have awful body aches and muscle pain and generally feeling absolutely shattered. Has anyone else had this? Don't know if it's just that I had terrible sleep for 2 days of if it's a side effect. I don't usually feel like this on this antibiotic so it's unusual for me. I had a look at the side effects and can't figure out if it's something I should be getting checked out or not. I also have a constant tremor in my lower left calf/achilles tendon.

I take this for urine infections and don't get this problem. Could these pains be caused by the original problem. Sometimes Nitro doesn't quite grip the infection and GP gives me an alternative.
Did you have tests before it was prescribed?

The symptoms of the infection are improving thankfully. I don't usually get this either. I'll make a gp appointment I think to get checked out. My daughter is full of a cold so I could also potentially have a virus of some sort. I've read a bit more now and it's listed as something that could potentially be a problem though so best to check I think.

This happened to me last week! I felt like I’d been hit by a truck. That stuff is evil. Went a day after the course was finished.

Sounds like the side effects I get when I take it - tho I also get a temperature. GP has decided I’m allergic to it and now prescribes an alternative.

it has got worse since I posted and now getting nerve pain and headache. Pretty unpleasant. I might have to stop taking it. Annoying because it's one of the few I used to be able to tolerate. Not anymore it seems,

Are you taking it after food and with a big glass of water? I was told to do this as apparently it can help prevent some of the side effects
